Our history
Buena Tierra was born in 2018, as a response to the natural disaster caused by the eruption of the Fuego volcano. Motivated by the need to rebuild and provide new opportunities, we created a Social Enterprise to promote Guatemalan coffee. Thanks to the strategic support of the South Korean international cooperation agency (KOICA), Good Neighbors Guatemala and Good Neighbors Global Impact Foundation, we were able to bring this project to life. Together with 29 coffee growers and a team united by a passion for coffee, we share a common vision that allowed us to begin to materialize this dream in the heart of the Acatenango Valley. Today, Buena Tierra continues to grow and generate a positive impact, bringing hope and development.
Mission
To be a comprehensive and transparent marketing opportunity for the best coffee from Guatemala, committed not only to offering high quality, but also to being a reliable, consistent and transparent source of specialty coffee for the global market. We strive to generate a positive economic and social impact in our communities, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), using a comprehensive and inclusive approach that ranges from environmental sustainability to the empowerment of local communities.
Vision
To be recognized globally as a benchmark in the marketing of quality coffee, committed to sustainable development and the well-being of producing communities, while maintaining an ethical and transparent approach in all our operations.

About us?
We are a social enterprise that produces, processes and exports specialty coffee, generating a positive economic and social impact with each of our producer partners. This allows us to offer meaningful coffee, backed by real traceability. We work with small and medium producers, without exclusions, which allows us to discover exceptional micro and nano lots that, until now, had not been recognized for their origin, flavor and experience.
What do we do?
At Buena Tierra, we specialize in the production, processing, and export of specialty coffee. Our facilities are versatile and designed to ensure proper processing of each batch, from the reception of the cherry to the final presentation of green coffee. We focus on clean and precise processing of each bean, with special emphasis on micro lots, allowing us to offer unique, high-quality coffees.
How do we do it?
Our approach to quality is comprehensive. From the moment we receive the cherry until the coffee is ready for export, we follow carefully designed procedures to ensure its freshness, cleanliness and exceptional flavor. Our process includes strict wet and dry milling practices, with the goal of delivering coffee that stands out for its consistent quality.
